Convertable
Choose Formats
Pick the format each kind of file converts to, for one file or a whole batch.
After you tap Convert on Home, the Choose Formats screen lets you pick what each kind of file becomes.
Steps
Add your files and tap Convert. See Add Files.
Your files are grouped by kind: Image, Document, Audio and Video. Each group shows its files and a Convert To row of format buttons.
Tap the format you want in each group. The selected one is filled in.
Set any options that appear. See Set Photo Options.
Tap Convert.
What You Get
- One target format per group, so a mixed batch converts in a single run. For example, photos to PNG and videos to MP4.
- Convertable chooses a sensible format to start with.
- Only formats that every file in the group can become are shown. If one file in a group cannot become a format, that format is not offered.
- An Output choice of Best Quality or Smaller File when a format can use it. It applies to JPEG, HEIC, JPEG 2000, MP4, MOV and M4V. Other formats do not show it.
If It Doesn't Work
- A format you want is missing: another file in the same group cannot become it. Remove that file, or convert it on its own. See Supported Formats.
- "No Conversions Available": these files cannot be converted on this device.
- A file is skipped, such as "JPEG Can't Convert To JPEG": a file cannot be converted to its own format. Choose a different format.
- WebP, AVIF or another image format is missing: your device decides which image formats it can create. Convertable only offers what your device can write.
Limits
- Convertable cannot create MP3, FLAC or AAC files. It can read them.
- Going back from this screen keeps your files on Home, so you can change your mind.
- Free Plan: the batch must fit in your remaining conversions for the month. See Plans And Billing.
