API Guide: Search Explore

Browse the ranked Explore feed, search it with q, or list itineraries from people the traveller follows.

Explore holds the itineraries travellers have shared. GET /v1/explore browses it. It needs a token but no scope.

Steps

Search by text. Without q you get the ranked feed.

curl "https://api.travelyfe.com/v1/explore?q=lisbon&limit=5" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_TOKEN" \
  -H "Travelyfe-Itinerary-Shape: clean"
{
  "data": [
    {
      "id": "5b0e5c1a-8f4d-4a52-9d3a-1c2e7f6b9a10",
      "title": "Five Days In Lisbon",
      "destination": { "name": "Lisbon, Portugal" },
      "visibility": "published",
      "daysCount": 5,
      "stopsCount": 14,
      "likesCount": 31,
      "publishedAt": "2026-09-30T08:00:00.000Z",
      "author": { "username": "sam", "displayName": "Sam" },
      "etag": null
    }
  ],
  "nextCursor": "MTB8MTIzNDU2"
}

Example response, shortened. nextCursor is opaque.

Narrow it. following=true (or filter=following) returns itineraries from people the traveller follows. regions takes up to eight comma-separated region names, such as Asia,Middle East (letters and spaces only).

curl "https://api.travelyfe.com/v1/explore?following=true" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_TOKEN" \
  -H "Travelyfe-Itinerary-Shape: clean"

Get the next page by passing nextCursor back as cursor. Stop when it is null. See Page Through Results.

What You Get

Rows in the same shape as the traveller's own list, plus likesCount and publishedAt, and etag is null. The feed order is random per search session; the cursor keeps it for the following pages.

If It Doesn't Work

  • 401 unauthenticated: no token, or it expired.
  • 422 validationFailed with details.field of regions: more than eight regions, or a name with digits or symbols.
  • 429 rateLimited: searches are limited. Wait the Retry-After seconds.
  • An empty data with a null cursor means nothing matched.

Limits

  • Search counts against 30 requests a minute.
  • limit is 1 to 100 and defaults to 25.
