Tarbiyah is a Qur'an memorisation (Hifz) app for iPhone. It takes you from your first ayah to the last.

Status: not yet released. Tarbiyah is not on the App Store yet. Its site is tarbiyah.app.

Who It Is For

Anyone memorising the Qur'an, from a first lesson to the full Qur'an.

Platforms

iPhone only. It needs iOS 18 or later.

How It Works

  • Lessons. The Qur'an is split into 662 lessons, each the span of one surah on one page of the Mushaf. Most people work through about a page a day.
  • Sessions. A lesson is a short run of drills: listen, put the words in order, recall from memory, choose what comes next, and recite aloud. Learning uses all of them. Revision goes straight to recall and recitation.
  • Daily plan. Each day has three parts: Sabak (a new lesson), Sabqi (recent revision) and Manzil (older revision).
  • Spaced revision. Each ayah is scheduled for review. Strong recall pushes it further out. A lapse brings it back the next day.
  • Recitation check. Recite into the microphone and the app checks it word by word. It is a helper, not a tajwid judge, and it can flag a reading that is correct.
  • The Mushaf. All 604 pages, with audio from nine reciters, bookmarks and a place to continue from.
  • Starting where you are. Tell the app which juz you already know and it adds them to your revision.

The app never generates or guesses Qur'an text.

Your Data

There is no sign-in and no account. Your progress lives on your device. You can export it as a backup file and restore it on another device. Reminders are local. Settings explains how recitation audio is handled.

Limits

  • There is no translation or tafsir. The text is Arabic only.
  • Listening needs a network connection the first time. Audio you have played or saved works offline afterwards.
